Happy Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2011

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my loved ones: my family, my friends, and my hubby.Oh and I can’t forget Dolly.  Yesterday was her Birthday (Happy Birthday Dolly!!)

Even though it’s just a commercial holiday, I love Valentine’s Day. Any day that reminds us to celebrate the loved ones in our lives is a great one. Plus, it’s the only holiday where it’s appropriate to wear a blindingly lovely amount of pink.

And don’t forget the treats! I think Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to indulge in something sweet. Remember?  I said you shouldn’t always say no 🙂

Those Girl Scouts are pretty smart putting cookie season right smack in the middle of Valentine’s Day.

Fun Facts about Fit Chick Britt’s past Valentine’s experiences:

  • On Hubby and I’s first Valentine’s Day together, I came over to his house in the morning and brought him heart-shaped French toast in bed. See… a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
  • On that same day, Hubby proceeded to back his truck into my little car smashing in the door. Whoops! Don’t worry it got fixed.
  • I spent one Valentine’s night watching Armageddon in my heart pajamas and a pint of chocolate chip cookie dough icecream. It was a pretty good night if you ask me.
  • I got my first flowers from a guy for Valentine’s Day when I was in the 5th grade, thanks Josh!
  • My mom used to go all out for Valentine’s Day. We’d come home and the house would be decked out in pink and red and she’d have Valentine’s Day themed candy and treats for all of us.
  • Over 4 Valentine’s ago Hubby and I started the tradition of having/making heart-shaped pizza to celebrate Valentine’s Day. And tonight is no different….

Mine: (Thank you my dear Hubby)

Now I’ve got Valentine’s to hang with! I hope you’re finding your Valentine’s night just as wonderful.

P.S. Don’t forget about 30-Minute Meal Monday!

That pizza looks so good, especially with the spinach on it. I love fresh spinach. Sometimes I just eat plain spinach salads. Sometime I just boil up some frozen spinach and eat it. I just love greens period!!!
