It’s raining, it’s pouring! I wish I was snoring Open-mouthed smile

Well I guess, for me, I am kind of “snoring”. I decided to take the day off from exercise and get in a rest day. Well… that’s not entirely true- I did run one measly mile. After a really tough and less than stellar 7-mile speed work run in the heat yesterday my body was VERY ready for a rest day today.

In the long run it will benefit you physically and mentally to take a rest day when needed. You’re a lot less likely to burn yourself out with too much exercise if you take regular rest days and your muscles have time to build and get stronger when you’re resting and recovering. You also risk injury if you’re not getting enough rest.

I was so excited to get home from work today because I knew my new cycling shoes and pedals would be waiting for me when I got home. I came home and tore open both boxes and then was a little disappointed. Apparently there are a few different types of cleats for your shoes (2-bolt and 3-bolt). My shoes came with the 2-bolt and the pedals themselves were made for 3-bolts. After some research I decided the 3-bolts are more appropriate for road cycling so I will probably end up taking back the shoes and keeping the pedals. Kind of a bummer since I really liked the shoes. They match the rest of my bike gear (Pink of course!).

Nothing a cute outfit can’t solve though! Outfit of the day:

I rummaged through my closet this morning for probably 15-minutes saying I had nothing to wear. Most of my pants are sitting in a pile waiting to be taken to the dry cleaner (I need to get on that). Finally I came up with something. I paired together a solid fuscia t-shirt top from Forever 21, a gray skirt purchased from Dillard’s, and the belt was stolen from a shirt that came with a belt. I’m also rocking the side pony tail which is pretty common for me these days.

A Random post deserves some random questions. I’ll leave you with these:

Are you good about taking rest days?

Do you have any advice on cycling shoes/pedals?

Do you ever rock the side pony?

Tonights storm was CRAZZY CRAZY! I swear lightening struck like a few feet away from me. I screamed (out loud) hahah.

3 more days to the race! I can NOT wait ❤ 10 miles!? Yeah you're definitely racking up more mileage every week than me lol.

The rain is amazing! I woke up to thunder this morning and I was in love! I have a love/hate relationship with rest days. I know by tomorrow I’m going to be ready for mine! I love the bike shoes! Where do you find your bike gear? I want to do a Tri in the spring, but I have zero biking equipment!

I love that outfit- super cute!

I’ve been known to rock the side pony on occasion- although the “LSB” (or low side bun) is my favourite!

I’ve got a pair of white Sidis. Love ’em!
